The death of Thomas Saulnier, 65, of Memramcook, occurred Monday at Hotel Dieu in Moncton after a short illness.

A veteran of the First World War, he was a retired guard from the Maritime Penitentiary at Dorchester.

Surviving are his wife, the former Eva Beliveau, five sons, Ernest of Saint John, Alyre, Moncton, Laurie, Sackville, Amos, Camp Gagetown, and Leonard of Memramcook; three daughters, Mrs. William White (Lila), Memramcook, Mrs. Laurie Gaudet (Ella), Memramcook, amd Mrs. Charles Bauer, Moncton; two brothers, Amos of Memramcook East and William of Saint John; two sisters, Mrs. Levi Bastarache (Anna) and Mrs. Andrew Gagnon (Vitaline) both of Moncton, and nine grandchildren.

The body is resting at the Dupuis funeral home in Memramcook until Wednesday at 9 a.m. and funeral service from Our Lady of Lourdes church in Memramcook East. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
